Industry Expert & Senior Fellow Bob Jenkins Fighting for Financial Reform & Against the False Claims of Wall Street

Robert “Bob” Jenkins is Better Markets' nonresident Senior Fellow based in London (as announced in this September 5, 2013 press release).  As Mr. Jenkins’ bio demonstrates, he has decades of vast experience on the sell side and the buy side and as a regulator, most recently as a founding member of the Bank of England’s Financial Policy Committee (FPC).

Mr. Jenkins is one of the most articulate and forceful advocates for strong, sensible regulation of the financial industry.  As Senior Fellow, he represents Better Markets in the global regulatory reform debate and helps to mobilize the investment community to become a major voice for protecting and advancing the interest of investors in the financial markets.

As an industry expert, he also is one of the knowledgeable and informed commentators on the industry's arguments against sensible and necessary regulation.  His speech in September 2012 when he was still a member of the FPC, "A Debate Framed by Fallacies," remains a must-read classic destruction of the global too-big-to-fail banks' key claims, showing in particular that "the regulatory reform debate has suffered needlessly for having been framed by a series of false choices advanced by lobbyists and accepted as given."  Those undeniable false claims continue to be made and, inexplicably, uncritically accepted and credited by too many.

Here is a selection of some of Mr. Jenkins’ other speeches, articles, op-eds and related materials:
